Stichting Almere Jazz Concerts
Our Mission:
Jazz was. Jazz is. Jazz stays. (J.A. Deelder)
Almere Jazz Concerts (AJC) foundation wants to keep jazz music alive. In the first place in Almere, our city, and with everyone in the world who is a lover, admirer, follower or jazz freak.
We do this by:
- Organize concerts: a stage where artists from different jazz styles and audiences can enjoy unforgettable concert experiences.
- Promote jazz: bring musicians together to actively play jazz music at festivals and other occasions.
- Create space for young musicians: there is plenty of room in the programming for young and upcoming musicians in jazz music.
- Provide education: by organizing workshops and masterclasses to allow different target groups to become acquainted with the rich history and styles of jazz music.
Our Vision:
Jazz music has a rich tradition that has developed in a relatively short time. From the beginning of the 20th century, this originally American style of music originated from a mixture of cultures and has continuously enriched itself with musical and cultural influences from all over the world.
Jazz stands for improvisation, development, creativity, connection, and above all for tolerance.
Our Crew:
AJC was founded by Delbert Bernabela, Theo Liems and Ton Eusterbrock. Three musicians whith a passion for Jazz music in the broadest sense of the word. Our events are supported by a pool of volunteers.
