Come join us as we cover the ins and outs of sketching woodland creatures with pencils. Whether you're an experienced sketcher or complete beginner, I'll have some fresh tips and tricks for you to discover. Each session has specially-designed printed worksheets and guides to take home.
This workshop will have a special focus on the beginning phases of drawing.
- Where do we begin with drawing? Making sure the animal fits the page, with convincing proportions and how to achieve a solid, lively look. You'll learn how to 'build your animal' with confidence
We'll work on how to~
- Become familiar with your materials
- Draw animals that come to life
- Build the creatures through a simple process
- Overcome perfectionism and make drawing a fun experience
We'll be working from some lovely photo reference, and you'll pick up the fundamentals which can be applied to any sketch subject, not just animals. We'll be using high quality coloured pencils, all materials (and refreshments!) provided.
Laura Carter is a professional English illustrator, with several years experience of giving art workshops.
