Parts of the Molenheide have been in private hands since before Geldrop and Mierlo fused into one gemeente. This diversity in owners has resulted in a diversity in forest types, practices, and habitats.

Our theme in touring these is the resulting biodiversity across the different plots of land. It will be a 5 kilometer walk, starting at the edge of the woods on the Geldrop side.

For those who aren't familiar with the KNNV, they are the Dutch society for field biology, ecology, and conservation. KNNV Eindhoven are eager to meet fellow enthusiasts.

Dutch and English both available.
