We’re pleased to invite you to a new edition of our RM Sunday Sessions at Galerie Ron Mandos. On Sunday, 4 May, art historian and professor John C. Welchman will join us in the gallery for a talk focused on the recent work of Koen van den Broek.

John C Welchman (1958) is Professor of Art History in the Visual Arts department at the University of California and a leader in the international arts community. He also serves as chair of the Mike Kelley Foundation for the Arts (Los Angeles). In 2023, Welchman published 'Out of Place', a monograph about van den Broek, which will be discussed in the talk.

The lecture will offer a closer look at the themes and shifts present in van den Broek’s latest works, including his move away from photographic references and his experimental use of materials typically found in street infrastructure, such as road paint, tar, and bitumen. Koen van den Broek will also be present at this event.

The doors will open at 13:30, please be sure to arrive before 14:00.

We look forward to welcoming you.
