About the Comedians:
HELI P¨ÄRNA (EE)
Heli Pärna is a comedian, actress, trainer among many other things.
After more than ten years of working in theater and improv as a performer, director and writer, she stood up almost three years ago combining all the different forms of storytelling. Since then she has been in over 100 shows including headlining at Side Splitters Comedy showcase and opening for Derek Mitchel’s Double Dutch, Tova Leigh’s Honey, I’m losing it and Matthew Mcaloone and Elena Gabrielle OK!?. In 2023 she wrote her first solo one woman show which premiered at Tallinn Fringe Festival in August 2023 and has brought it to stages in Brussels, Luxembourg, Geneva and New Zealand. In 2024 Heli made her debut at Edinburgh Festival Fringe with a 14 night run of her show.
Heli is based in Brussels where she also runs and hosts the bi-weekly Funny Women Brussels show. Off stage, Heli is usually reading, watching anything by Mike Flanagan, traveling and submitting short stories just to keep the rejection muscle going.
ROBIN WEINBURGH (USA)
Robin is an American comic from Texas. He turned to stand-up in 2000, having previously focused on writing short slice-of-life essays for minor magazines and college literary journals.Eight months later, he had his first paying gig. He’s performed with the likes of Patton Oswalt, Jim Gaffigan, Kevin Nealon, Mo Amer, and Emo Phillips. In 2001, he won Houston’s Funniest Person Contest. He continued until 2008, when he stopped to be a family man, at least until he moved to Belgium in 2022. Since then, he has performed in Belgium, France, and the Netherlands, and featured for Dima Watermelon, Tom Rhodes, and Matt Ruby.The Austin Chronicle describes him “America’s Funniest Geek,” but he thinks The Austin American-Statesman described him best: "Come for the sci-fi jokes, but stay for the hilarious takes on an ever-expanding range of topics, including some very original blue material.”
CHARLIE STEVENS (UK)
Charlie Stevens is a Brussels-based British comedian and founder of Side Splitters Comedy Club.
After crashing onto the comedy scene in Malta and honing his craft on shows in Paris, Charlie now regularly features in shows across the Benelux region.
With a unique storytelling comedic style, he explores the intricacies of everyday life and what it's like to be a Brit in the EU, which… doesn't really feel like home anymore. Follow him on all social media platforms at @charliestevenscomedy!
