So, here you are. The dust has settled, the water lowers, and underneath the debris of what once was our civilization lies an empty, deserted landscape. There is mud and the flickering of a lamp. Crumpled pages that belonged to endless amounts of books are pushed around by the piercing wind like tumbleweed. You are one of very few sentient creatures left. Yet you are not alone...
Join us on this journey through a post-human, desolate landscape and meet the strange and beautiful creatures imagined by artist Margriet van Breevoort, that have inhabited this planet after us in the exhibition Arcadian Dreams: Creatures from a World Reborn. From this barren land we will rebuild a world with words, but not as humans.
Authors are often said to seek solitude. Yet, no writing can be done without connecting to others. You have to become your characters, speak, act and feel like they would. In this creative writing workshop, we will imagine post-human characters by connecting to the creatures of the exhibition. In our post-apocalyptic world of emptiness, you might feel alone, but not lonely.
