About this event

The Amsterdam Spanish Film Festival presents La Mitad de Ana (Becoming Ana), a profound and thought-provoking film that delves into identity, motherhood, and self-discovery.

Ana balances her work as a museum gallery guard with raising her eight-year-old child, Son. When the new school year begins, Son starts exploring their gender identity, shaking Ana’s structured world. As she navigates her child’s transition, Ana embarks on her own journey—rediscovering the woman she was before becoming a mother. To truly support Son, Ana must first find herself again.

We will have Marta Nieto, the director and protagonist of the film, for a special Q&A after the screening.

Join us for an evening of cinema and conversation at Filmkoepel!
