Matbakh Turabi: April Edition with Natalia Kerbage
Food and ceramics both carry stories of culture and heritage that are passed down from generation to generation. They connect people to history, tradition, and community.
Matbakh Turabi (مطبخ ترابي) brings together food from the Arab world and North Africa with ceramics made by Turabi Studio. Each event is a collaboration with a chef or cook, celebrating our shared traditions and flavors.
For our second edition, we’re very excited to welcome Natalia Kerbage, bringing her delicious Lebanese cuisine to Amsterdam. Natalia’s cooking is full of memories and everyday stories, with dishes that carry the feeling of home. She’ll be sharing a menu of classics from the Levant made with her own personal touch, including Fatteh, baba ghanoush, Fattoush, and mouth savouring dessert: Osmallieh (baked kataifi pastry, ashram, pistachios and orange blossom syrup!)

About Turabi Studio:
Turabi Studio is a ceramic studio in Amsterdam, bringing you unique designs inspired by Palestinian heritage and culture. Turabi, which translates to 'my soil, my earth, or my land," reflects the beautiful and deep connection between ceramics and our land—through clay, a material that can last for thousands of years. Turabi also offers monthly ceramic workshops, where you can learn various hand-building techniques including pinching and coiling and explore the world of glazing (colouring ceramics) in a relaxed and creative space.
Through the event series, Turabi seeks to connect Palestine, the Arab region and North Africa, through the cultural exchange of our shared traditions. Both ceramics and food carry stories of our cultures and history and we are so excited to be connecting Lebanon with Palestine this month and to share this experience with you!
