About this event

  • Event lasts 1 hour

How are collection caretakers, technicians, art handlers and artists grappling with the challenges posed by cathode-ray tube-based artworks? What strategies have been adopted for their presentation and preservation? Which network of care have collecting institutions established to ensure the longevity of these works?

Three lightning presentations led by Icheol Kwon, Taylor Healy and Peter Oleksik will kick off the Café and inspire an informal discussion with all participants of this Call. The presentations will include case studies, strategies and ongoing challenges to care for cathode-ray tube-based artworks.

This INCCA Café initiative is part of a collaboration between ZKM | Center for Art and Media Karlsruhe and Colorvac. The event will be moderated by flaminia fortunato and Florian Darheim with the participation of Marlies Peller, contemporary art conservator at ZKM.
