About this event

In 2023, the valorization program 'Einstein Telescope for business' was launched with the aim of stimulating innovation and accelerated development of new technologies for the Einstein Telescope (ET). On Monday, July 1, 2024, we will organize an event full of updates, inspiring lectures ánd a site visit.

Since its launch in the fall of 2023, great strides have been made. On Monday July 1, we look back but most of all we look forward. Anna Gimbrère, theoretical physicist, science journalist and presenter will guide us through a day filled with highlights.

What to expect?
We look back at the first milestones such as the formation of the consortium around the technology domain of vibration-free cooling. Demcon kryoz, Cooll and the University of Twente received the first R&D grant last February. Pieter Lerou, managing director of Demcon kryoz, will share where they stand.

Gideon Koekoek, associate professor of theoretical physics at Maastricht University will give a compact lecture on gravitational waves. Stefan Hild, Professor of Fundamental Physics at Maastricht University will share insights about the ETpatfinder, the prototype of the Einstein Telescope housed at Maastricht University. A visit to this unique R&D lab is part of the program.

And off course you will have ample opportunity to meet entrepreneurs, scientists, politicians and shareholders involved in this exciting project.

Anna Gimbrère is a presenter, program maker and science editor. She graduated in theoretical physics from the University of Amsterdam.
