About this event

  • Event lasts 3 hours 15 minutes

In 2025, it will be 80 years since the end of the Second World War - a turning point in our history. On May 4th we will commemorate this in the Netherlands.

The film "Denial" is based on the true story of the trial between the Holocaust denier David Irving and the American historian Deborah Lipstadt.

Deborah Lipstadt wrote a book about Holocaust deniers, and David Irving sued her for defamation.

Today there are still some groups trying to 'minimise' the Holocaust.

This screening is our small contribution to not forgetting what human beings are capable of, otherwise we might be able to repeat it.

Free entrance!

We meet in the SKLO building (kraneweg 33, Groningen) - first floor (upstairs, room 13)

Open doors from 19h.

Films are a universal attractive language and a tool to connect with different people in just around 90 minutes. Good films can raise questions about worldviews, current hot-topics, or even open our eyes to other people's experiences or situations that were unknown to us.

In "Let's movie it!" we aim to show good quality movies with a wide variety of styles and themes, followed by an open discussion in an informal and friendly atmosphere, hoping to leave some food for thought.
