Get ready for a cosy Clay Saturday workshop! Join us on Sat May 17 2025 at 12:00 at 91 Penningweg, 1507 DG Zaandam for a day of creativity and relaxation with clay. This in-person event is perfect for anyone looking to unwind and tap into their artistic side.

Ceramic artist Sanna Pöyhönen will guide you through the process of creating your own unique clay masterpiece. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced artist, you'll have a blast making something special for your home.

Atelier Ainoa is also a creative space of Sanna, who first put her hands in clay as a teenager and after 30 years is still in love with the ceramics as a medium for art. She is inspired by old myths and fairytales as well as green and wild nature. The art pieces and lush plants create a magical atmosphere, where you feel free to explore your creativity and unique ways to express yourself.

Learn the basic clay hand building techniques while working on your own ceramics project under the guidance of Sanna and the spirits of her art.

In the 3 hours workshop you will learn to make a small object of clay - mug, bowl, vase a figurine - and glaze it yourself. Afterwards the objects dry and are fired for you in a special ceramics oven, a kiln, to the dramatic 1000 C degrees where all organic material burns and clay turns into hard ceramics. The pieces are ready for pick up in 2-4 weeks after the workshop.
