Brisbane Boys’ College (BBC) is an independent day and boarding school for boys located in Brisbane, Australia. Established in 1902, this prestigious college caters for boys from Prep all the way to Year 12.
Brisbane Boys’ College runs many different music ensembles, the four that are on this tour include the College Strings, Collegians (choir), Brass Ensemble and Woodwind Quintet. All ensembles feature students who are dedicated to furthering their technical and musical skills all whilst performing at the highest level. These international music tours allows students multiple opportunities to perform across the world in new places and encounter new cultures.
This is something that their Head of Performance Music and the Director of Strings at Brisbane Boys’ College, Theo Kotzas wants all his music students to experience. Theo conducts the String ensembles and teaches instrumental lessons at the school. He is a board member of the Queensland Youth Orchestra and has recently been appointed a State Examiner for the Australian Music Examination Board. With his guidance, the Brisbane Boys’ College will be presenting a varied programme, of both classical and more contemporary works as well as audience favourites throughout their musical tour of Europe.
